What the Mediterranean Travel Association (META) proposes

imgMETA is an apolitical Non Governemental Organization. It's legal statutes are a French non profit association.

META’s aim is to give professionals from the private and public sectors of tourism and travel in the zone the opportunity to group together.

img A STRONG INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE
The Mediterranean is the world’s leading tourism destination. All the outbound tourism destinations, on all five continents, send tourists to Mediterranean destinations with prospects (producers, distributors, transporters) numbering hundreds of thousands.

In 2008, the 29 markets forming the META zone, are largely over 300 millions of international arrivals, with a global market share close to 33% of the total international arrivals in the World (a progression of a little bit less than 2% vs 2007). The year 2009 is still erratic, due to the current economic downturn. A first forecast for this year will be available next June.

META is setting up a powerful communication network which will ensure its members maximum coverage in all the outbound markets.
